Job Description
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Experienced dyer with knowledge of piece dyeing, using jet, jig and winch dyeing machines.

·         Knowledge of dyeing various fabrics including: Wool, Poly Wool Blends, Poly Viscose, Cotton, Linen and Polyester.

·         Managing a small team hand on approach essential

·         Knowledge of data colour matching system

·         The preparation of a detailed Technical and Quality Plan as required but usually in connection to the annual budget.

·         Monitoring technical key performance indicators (KPIs) on a regular basis.

·         Planning the work of the dyeing machines on a weekly basis or more often if required ensuring that as many orders as possible have a realistic dyeing date which ensures they are dyed on time and in the correct order.

·         Communicating with the customers on a regular basis updating on orders

·         Managing the dyeing department and its staff to ensure that work is done according to the plan and in accordance with technical procedures.

·         Writing or updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for dyeing and supporting processes.

·         Formulating dye recipes for new shades and maintaining/ updating existing recipes ensuring these are well documented in a structured, robust and transparent system.

·         Programming or managing the programming of the controller system for the dye machines to control the process of dyeing each batch maintaining the integrity of the data on the system so that it is clear how a batch has been dyed including recording any Adds necessary in a clear and transparent way.

·         Quality Control including documenting the systems and procedures required to provide an effective QC system in pursuit of the objectives above.

·         Working with colleagues in Commercial, Production and Finance to ensure that all failings in delivery and quality service are properly recorded and documented as a means to understanding trends and action to correct them.

·         General housekeeping in the laboratory and chemical pumping area. These areas must be kept presentable in anticipation of customer visits.

·         Trial new methods and processes to ensure that the work being carried out in production is being carried to maximum efficiency, using the most effective dyes and chemicals.

·         Carry out regulatory checks.

·         Any other responsibilities or work that may reasonably be expected of you and within your abilities.
