OVERVIEW

We require a person to run the fringing machine, and winding department as when necessary. To ensure all scarf pieces are fringed to a high level of quality and in a timely manner, but as this is not a full- time role at certain times of the year, to run the winding frame when necessary.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is not an exhaustive list of duties but gives an outline of the role and responsibilities of this position.

Main Duties

Supervision of the day to day running of the accessory operation including:

  • Fringe scarf pieces to a good quality in a timely manner
  • Record pieces fringed and times taken to carry pout the process
  • Identify quality issues when fringing, and report to line manager when they occur.
  • Keep track of pieces coming through production to ensure smooth operation of the machine
  • Liaise with line manager on workload
  • Movement of fringed pieces to next process
  • Use winding frame to ensure work is carried out in the most efficient manner
  • Maintain a clean working area including ensuring all machinery is cleaned daily.
  • Quality check goods throughout each stage of production
  • Quality check yarns are wound to the correct specification
  • Adhere to department KPi’s and ensure team work to required levels.
  • Stock management of consumables, ensuring sufficient supplies are always available.
  • Liaise with team at Joshua Ellis on a daily basis updating on current position

  • Perform other duties as required appropriate to the post
  • General duties and responsibilities may vary without changing the general character of the role

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Good levels of English and Math

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Attention to detail and good manual dexterity.
  • Good communication and literacy skills
  • Good computer literacy including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Full capacity to recognize colour, checked prior to appointment.

Stanley Mills Weavers, is very proud to be a specialist weaver of fine mohair fabric, one of the few surviving mills that excels in this unique craft.  Producing luxurious pure wool and cashmere worsted suiting’s with a meticulous emphasis on quality and is also part of the SIL Holdings Goup of companies.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced weaver to join our double day shift system, responsible for operating up to 8 Dornier looms. The nature of this job requires some manual handling however lifting equipment is provided wherever possible. Training will be given for weavers who have been out of the industry or are more familiar with other makes of looms.

SKILLS  AND ATTRIBUTES

This will include

  • Repairing broken warp and weft ends.
  • Keeping weft creels full.
  • Weaving to the required quality and productivity.
  • Removing pieces when length is reached.
  • Cleaning to a set standard.
  • Routine quality checks to maintain the highest possible standards and reporting any quality issues or poor weaving efficiencies to the shift overlooker.

SHIFT PATTERNS

  • (Week 1 – 40hrs) – Mon – Fri: 6am-2pm
  • (Week 2 – 37.5hrs) Mon – Thurs: 2pm-10pm & Friday: 2pm-7.30pm.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and knot on warps felled looms, paying attention to all ticket and loom specifications to check for weaving compatibility
  • Draw in jacquards and selvedges at gear changes.
  • Tie on jacquard and selvedge bobbins in loom as required.
  • Knot and rebeam warps in rebeamer as workload and requirements demand.
  • Draw through warps in loom where they have been previously knotted in rebeamer.
  • Where workload demands, assist in headling department on either Staubli Delta or Vega healding machines.
  • Assist in weaving department where required.
  • To assist in the maintenance of a safe working environment through the strict adherence to company health and safety rules and procedures.  This specifically includes:Ensuring that the looms are only operated in accordance with the manufacturers instructions;Ensuring that a high standard of housekeeping is maintained, with particular emphasis and notice taken of oil or grease spillages;Adhering to all COSH guidelines;Ensuring that all safety devices where fitted are checked daily before starting work;Ensuring that all PPE equipment as issued is used.

  • Management of a small team

  • Process and organise the daily orders received and despatch within the timeframes required

Role and Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Invoice uploads to PNC (asset-based lender), including plans for ‘special cases’.
  • Accessing online systems to print off supplier invoices.
  • Coding, posting and scanning of supplier invoices.
  • Reconciling supplier statements.
  • Ensuring that the Accounts Payable Ledger is up to date and accurate.
  • Producing weekly and monthly suggested payment runs.
  • Circulation and posting of Company Credit Card Statements.
  • Completing daily bank reconciliations across multiple currencies.
  • Monthly Agent’s Commission Statements.
  • Posting of cash receipts into Bank and PNC (asset-based lender).
  • Identifying any amounts to pay over to PNC.
  • Reconciling petty cash.
  • Processing expenses.
  • Compilation and circulation of weekly Management Pack.
  • Compilation of Weekly Cashflow for review.
  • Monthly inter group reconciliations.
  • Dealing with Ad Hoc queries in person, by email and telephone.
  • Covering incoming phone calls when required.
  • Create reports and attend weekly debtors meetings with the Sales Teams

Any other suitable tasks the business feels are appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills Preferred

  • AAT Qualified (preferred but not essential)
  • GCSE in Maths or related subject
  • Strong Excel skills
