Joshua Ellis: Autumn/ Winter 2019 – The Inspiration
Established in 1767, Joshua Ellis celebrates a distinguished heritage of British manufacturing with a steadfast reputation for luxury and quality.
Our Autumn-Winter 2019/20 accessory collection takes inspiration from the current trend for folk and craft inspired fabrics. Brightly coloured tartans and block checks sit alongside multi-coloured tweeds which are a throwback to British design house heritage. Primary bright colours transform exploded Blackwatch plaids with chic flashes of colour, and our iconic pallet of 21 plain cashmere stoles underpin the whole collection.
Classic designs such as windowpanes, houndstooths and Prince of Wales checks still feature heavily as a nod towards our sartorial heritage in Yorkshire and Savile Row. Our featherweight cashmere scarf continues to showcase craftsmanship at it’s very best. The new Escorial wool collection maximises the multi-coloured melange shades in ‘Shetland-look’ tweeds. Our vintage cashmere is a dandy inspired capsule of heritage patterns and tartans, with the rounded yarn and natural finish adding to the authenticity of this homespun inspired product.
New for 2019 is our double-face cashmere scarf, the epitome of luxury with either a classical ‘plain on plain’ or with traditional glen check or gun club designs.
Inspired by the Georgian townhouse, the Home collection of cashmere throws offers beautiful melange shades of grey and taupe with pops of muscat or teal and the iconic bouclé throw with hand stitching remains the ultimate luxury for any discerning cashmere lover.
By successfully marrying innovation in design, with a commitment to investing in new generations to develop the time-honoured skills that distinguish the Joshua Ellis brand; we can reflect on our historic past while we look forward to an exciting future.
